A Step Towards Giving Back to Society
In order to solve a problem for my mega project of career-prep fellowship, I started by thinking about all the problems that I myself face as a dweller of society and then listed down those problems and at last in the identification process, I selected one that I am able to solve. So the problem that struck my mind the most is in the education area.
One of the problems that I and some of my friends like you faced, was deciding a career path or field of study. Some of them made a decision based on their relative’s career path and success. Some were forced into a specific field by their parents. Some took decisions according to their result in the desired university. But only a few knew what they want to do but were stuck for the specific area to be chosen in the chosen field as it leads to many sub-areas.
Even I, the student of computer science, after getting the desired field was confused about which specific area (web development, mobile app development, machine learning, etc.) to choose. But after so many searches and counselling from my respected teachers I came to a decision. But I could perform better if I would have known my interest earlier or at least could have saved my time. I feel sorrier for my those friends who have taken admission to the undesired field and later discovered their interest. But due to family or social pressure, they are unable to drop their studies and starting the one in which they are interested.
This problem has risen questions inside me. Are my friends and I the only ones who are facing this problem? How many are satisfied with their current field of study or job? Are we losing the art of listening to intuition?
After all these questions, I named this problem as “A career decision Problem”. So solving this career decision problem that is faced by many students like me and my friends, I have decided to have career counselling sessions in school and colleges to help students in deciding their career path and to solve their queries. But for performing this task, I must have to equip myself for this goal.
In order to equip myself for this purpose, I searched a lot on the topic and came up with some initial wonderful ideas such as:
1) Using the videos of experts where they are telling the ways to determine the interest.
2) Using a quiz for determining interest areas that were designed by a
psychologist (I have found in a research paper).
3) By telling the students about every field and their sub-areas and their respected scope.
4) In the end, having an in-person session with individuals to solve their queries if any.
5) Helping students by telling the ways to get into the desired field.
6) Have sessions for parents to let them also aware of other fields than medical, computer science and engineering.
7) Having sessions for parents for telling them the importance of motivation for their children.
I have decided to discuss this idea with my university teachers as well as with my friends for their suggestions and improvements but as semester break is going on so I have to wait for a few days to discuss it with my all initial target. But wait, we are living in the age of technology where social media platforms exist so you can also help me, can’t you? So let me discuss it with you in more detail what exactly I want to do.
Putting the idea into the universe :
To put my idea in the universe I have decided to open an Education consultant agency to spread my work to the local level as well as to the national level to help the student of Pakistan to solve their career-relevant problems. My consultancy will provide all the services to the students, school, colleges and teachers at a reasonable cost. I am also willing to help students in getting admission in a foreign university by just reaching us where we assist them in getting a visa and scholarship and in getting a job or internship in a particular country. Moreover, the provision of training courses for brain improvement, interpersonal skills, language skills for students and provision of the teachers training program is also on my list in order to improve the education area of Pakistan.
Solving this problem has now become my dream, I want some hands to join me up for this purpose. Today, maybe solutions are few but the idea is clear to me that is to help Pakistan in making progress in the education area or to make its people educated enough for the economical development.
In order to improve this idea, I need to talk with concern one-the one who is facing the problem like me to go deeper into the problem analyzation and the one who probably have solutions or suggestion.
